The 08 event sold out early securing a $50,000 endowment that will enable students who are interested in pursuing a career in the music business an opportunity to apply for financial assistance.

Amy Grant nailed “Love Me Tender”
Wynonna Judd, brought the house down with “Burning Love”
BJ Thomas brought home “Suspicious Minds”
The Stamps received two standing ovations for: “Sweet, Sweet Sprit” and “He Touched Me”
Vince Gill was begged to not leave the stage after performing “Blue Suede Shoes” and “That’s All Right (Momma)” all the while loving that he was sharing the stage with famed guitarist, James Burton, Harold Bradley, DJ Fontana and other musical greats.  It was a very special evening at The Historic Ryman for sure.

The night was full of personal stories from some of the famed musicians that knew The King best and played on many of his records.  Some of the stories had never been told publicly and this really made the show a unique event. This year’s show should be equally exciting with many of the musicians and artists returning for the 2009 show along with some new additions.
